A big waste of a great idea.
Such and interesting idea, completely killed by being sidelined... shame. I was wondering why did they even include that radius bit in the movie, since wasn't suited for this kind of movie at all. It was a generic thriller and the radius thing felt like a completely pointless gimmick. Imagine taking the Titanic movie and putting the robots from Transformers into it, just because whatever. This is how the genre mix felt in Radius. This makes me very sad ,because this idea had sooo much potential and it was completely wasted on a movie, where it made zero sense to be in.
Worth a watch
A lot of people don't like the movie, but I did. I think if a person can look at the message in a philosophical manner you will understand the ending. It's a twist, and I liked it. Movies often bore me, but this didn't. The acting was fine; steady rhythm going through the story. Use a brain, some discerning intellect and you may like it. There was a lot of fluidity in the movie, which is why it held my attention. I began to anticipate the outcome, then discovered I was wrong after all. The movie is quiet; requires people to pay attention and not fidgit.
Idea stolen from a classic anime
This is a very obvious, yet thoroughly flat remake of the "Stink Bomb" Episode in the omnibus anime "Memories" (1995, So much for "original concept". It's also a picture-perfect example for how adapting an anime in film doesn't work - what is zany, humorous and non-stop action in the original becomes dull and bleak at a comatose pace.
Enjoyed this film
As a Diego Klattenhoff fan, I'd been waiting to see this for 18 months. The movie was worth the wait. Steeve Leonard and Caroline Labreche came up with an intriguing concept, and executed it well. As others have stated, this premise has been used before, but in this case, it's more the human element that carries the film. The current action, laced with the (jarring at times) flashbacks tells the story. And we go on the journey with Liam and Jane as they piece together just what happened to them. It had me guessing until the end and kept me on my toes the entire time. Great performances by Diego Klattenhoff and Charlotte Sullivan really carry this film, and at times they are the only two on screen for quite a while. I really felt for what they were going through, and it was one of those movies that I didn't want to end. While the sci-fi element of the film may not be padded out enough, the personal story of the two protagonists makes it worth watching.
More Nuanced Than You Expect
Liam wakes from a car crash and has no memory of what has happened, he walks from the scene of the accident and further down the highway and sees a car coming down the road and flags it down. The car crashes, he see's the driver and It appears there is a weird virus or plague and people from here on in are dropping like flies.

Liam quickly comes to realise that he is the cause and takes steps to keep people from coming into contact with him. He meets up with a woman known as Jane and they find out that when they are together it cancels out the death radius that affects Liam.

There are little twists and turns here & there laying down breadcrumbs to open up the story line.

Eventually via memory flashbacks the two characters get a small window into their previous lives which ultimately culminate in an ending of sacrifice of one of the two main characters.

It's not Oscar material and there is minimal special effects, however it's an interesting tail and more nuanced than you'd expect. Both the key actors are very good and the film is worthy of a watch.

Made for TV which happily entertains you for 1.5 hours

Quite why other reviewers have a downer on it evades me.
Thrilling,Mysterious and Intrigueing
I Loved this story, knowing little to nothing of what to expect. There are spoilers from this point on so be warned...The events that unfold grabbed me from the very get go. Without knowing much of what this was about, the 1st thing you think of is that a virus is affecting people, yet people isolated by being in a car or separated by being outside building are falling dead Instantly as they come into proximity with main character.. As much as i loved the movie and as mind blowing the concept is, I have seen this almost exact scenario portrayed in the "Heroes" TV series years earlier and it had the same jaw dropping effect..In Heroes, there were a brother and sister, and the sister had this same proximity effect of killing Any and any living things that got near her..There was a state she would shift into, her eyes would go black, and then all life instantly died around her, even an entire village! the only thing that could stop this was her brother, when he was near her, she calmed and became normal again..I've seen this also in the "4400" TV series where an ability releasing drug was taken by the public to bring out latent persons ability was that all those around him in certain proximity would begin to die almost immediately..the only movie that hinted at such a theme was "children of the damned" with christopher reeve..there was an area with a clearly defined boundary where all life would fall unconscious when crossed...Anyway All those shows and movies still portrayed something ultra extraordinary and quite jaw dropping as a theme.. this movie especially, Like i said its been done before but still intrigues me to no end... loved it
turns took be by surprise
I am not the great review writing guy, but i feel i want to key out a few lines about this movie and maybe get a few undecided folks to actually see it. First of all, forget the classification stuff, it is somewhere between thriller, horror, sci-fi and mystery, so its not clear. The story is well composed and builds up tension and suspense. The two lead characters are well drawn and acted believable. Like another reviewer said, when i got the plot figured out, i did not want the film to end, while before it was like: come on and get to the point, i really need to know what is behind all this. Well invested movie time, quite cool overall. Thank you for the entertainment
An interesting concept,
but poorly executed and with a conclusion that was lazy and unimaginative.

Radius starts in high note and a interesting and original idea ( a radius of death around a person.)

But pretty soon into the film, we see that the script writer and director had no idea whatsoever of what to do it.

The two main characters start a rambling quest to try and identify the cause of this "condition" and this is interspersed with a few confrontations with cops and rednecks and then we arrive at a pretty anticlimactic ending.... Nothing is explained nor hinted at.

All things considered this was a kind of "meh" film.

Big waste of time.
Excellent Concept, Strong Execution
Liam (Diego Klattenhoff, star of TV's "The Blacklist") wakes from a car crash with no memory of who he is. As he makes his way into town to look for help, he finds only dead bodies, all with strange pale eyes. Liam's first assessment is that a virus is present in the air, but he soon discovers the horrible truth.

This film was born with Fantasia's Frontières Market serving as midwife way back in 2012. Other great films in recent years that came out of this process are "Turbo Kid", "The Void" and "Raw", so the track record is rather strong. (The late George Romero's "Road of the Dead" most recently went through the market and may arrive in 2018.) A few producers were attached and dropped out along the way (hence the multi-year genesis), but ultimately everything worked out.

At first, I thought that perhaps the creators give too much away in their plot description (which I have shortened) and title, but this turns out not to be the case. While the viewer will be more rewarded the less they know going in, the cause of death is only the first in a series of surprises and twists. A far more interesting one awaits.

It cannot be overstated how absolutely wonderful this original concept is. Allegedly, it was inspired in part by the style and format of "Oldboy" (which is not at all obvious) mixed with the plot of an old Superman comic. There are mild horror elements, mixed in with an overall science fiction or supernatural premise. When we find out about the memory of the Santa beard, a mystery element is added. And still further the constant police chase adds an action element, making this a hard film to categorize (other than it is not much of a western or romance!).

The production value is clearly high, and the cinematography from Simon Villeneuve is rich and gorgeous. Charlotte Sullivan's acting seems a little too rehearsed, a little tense and unrealistic. This is a shame, really, because according to her, she approached the role as though she were Kim Novak in "Vertigo" or some other Hitchcock tale, which seems like a strong mindset to use. Diego Klattenhoff hits it out of the park, however. While his character's history and motives are constantly under question, Klattenhoff plays Liam with such warmth that we cannot help but side with him as he goes through this ordeal.

While it is hard to review this film without giving away too much, it really is a must-see. An official selection of FrightFest, Fantastic Fest, and Fantasia Film Festival, everyone else gets to finally see it available on VOD on November 10, 2017. Courtesy of Epic Pictures, the fine folks who gave us "Turbo Kid" and "Tales of Halloween".
Outstanding Acting.
This movie is fantastic. The acting was like Art, which in turn suggests so was the writing and the directing. I found the build of the plot perfectly paced. Personally, I did feel that I could predict in some areas what was going to happen, but the brilliant thing about that was that it wasn't because it was predictable at all, it was because clues were structured in such a way that even though at a certain point you think, ah, I think I know what is going to happen next (normally not a good thing in a thriller), you still are on tender-hooks for the part after that because it happens in such a way as to intrigue you each step of it, making it more enjoyable because of it. Each situation has at least three or more (depends on your imagination) totally different ways the story could go in your mind as you are caught up in it, and each one interesting so when it comes to the direction it takes throughout, each one is fresh and as brilliant, or more, than you thought it would be. Well worth a watch, a film with substance with the depth of acting. There aren't a lot of movies I can watch more than once, this would be an exception.
